Courtney Ackerman

Courtney manages all program logistics and operations of the Advising Programs Office. Courtney joined the office following a 4 year stint at Harvard Business School. Originally from New Jersey, Courtney graduated from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, with a concentration in Social Work, and a minor in Spanish. She has lived in the Boston area ever since. Courtney has worked in both non-profit and corporate settings, and is passionate about facilitating educational opportunities for others. Courtney is pursuing her Master's Degree in International Relations at the Harvard Extension School.

Rebecca E. Capodilupo

Department Administrator
Rebecca Capodilupo

Becca is the Department Administrator for the APO. Her administrative and management experience is extensive, including working as a Compensation Analyst and HR generalist for FAS. Becca has over 20 years of experience as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor and manager in the fitness industry. Before coming to the APO, Becca directed group fitness programming for the Harvard Business School in addition to serving as the Boston Regional Director for Group Fitness Programming for Optum. Becca earned her B.A. from U.C. Berkeley where she majored in Psychology. She is currently enrolled part-time in the Interior Design program at Rhode Island School of Design.

Mathavi Jothimurugesan Strasburger

Mathavi Jothimurugesan Strasburger
Mathavi oversees sophomore advising for the Advising Programs Office. Mathavi joins the office from Agnes Scott College, where she served as a professional academic adviser and oversaw a wide range of programs, including peer advising and dual degree advising in engineering and computer science. Before that, Mathavi worked at Duke University in multiple roles overseeing student academic programs. Mathavi earned her B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering from Duke, an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and is currently working on her Ed.D. at Vanderbilt University

Cynthia Kim

Cynthia works collaboratively with the APO team and provides administrative support for various academic advising programs. As a member of the Board of First-Year Advisers, she also guides first-year students in their transition to college academics. As a first-generation college graduate, Cynthia believes in the need for accessible education and a strong community for students. Cynthia completed her B.A. at Harvard College, where she studied Economics and Sociology. Prior to joining the APO, Cynthia worked at TripAdvisor, the Superior Court of Los Angeles and the FAS Office of Career Services at Harvard University.

Brooks Lambert-Sluder

Assistant Director
Brooks Lambert-Sluder
Brooks oversees first-year advising, including the Board of Freshman Advisers and the Peer Advising Fellows programs.

Brooks completed his B.A. at Harvard.  As an undergraduate, he lived in Canaday Hall and Currier House, and concentrated in History. In 2005, Brooks worked on the Harvard College Curricular Review, in the Harvard College Dean's Office, which led to the creation of the Advising Programs Office (APO). Brooks joined the APO in its inaugural year in 2006, and helped launch the Peer Advising Fellows (PAF) program in 2006-07. Since then, Brooks has helped steer numerous advising related initiatives. Also since 2007, Brooks has served as a freshman proctor. He recently ended his tenure as a proctor in Apley Court in Ivy Yard.

Anne Marie E. Sousa

Anne Marie Sousa

Anne Marie Sousa leads the Advising Programs Office in overseeing academic advising for all undergraduate students at Harvard College. Anne Marie has been an adviser for students since she began working at Harvard College in 2008, first in helping to launch the Program in General Education and then working on academic projects in the Office of Undergraduate Education. Anne Marie is very passionate about academic advising and believes that it is the key that connects students with opportunities inherent in a liberal arts education.

Anne Marie earned her B.A. from Middlebury College where she majored in English, an M.A. in the Humanities from the University of Chicago, and a Master’s of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Before joining Harvard College, Anne Marie worked at Harvard Law School in a variety of student service roles.
