Denise holds an undergraduate degree from Brown University in Neuroscience, and recently completed their Ph.D. in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology at Harvard. They use Drosophila melanogaster to study behavior in naturalistic environments. They have taught classes on evolutionary biology and neuroscience in the OEB department as well as the Program for General Education. Denise serves as a Preceptor in the Life Sciences.
