Monica is originally from Italy and her love of science and research brought her to the U.S. Monica holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from Boston University and a Ph.D. from the University of Milan and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Genetics & Biomolecular Sciences. As a research fellow at Harvard Medical School, she then studied the mechanisms of protein degradation in the context of neurodegeneration, using mouse models of tauopathies. More recently at MIT, as a senior scientist, she studied the consequences of aneuploidy on cell physiology and cancer development. She currently serves as a Preceptor in Life Sciences for LS1b.
