Originally from Brazil, Mayron is a B.A. in Theology, a B.S. in Psychology, an M.S. in Behavior Analysis, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Fribourg, in Switzerland. He is currently a degree candidate in the ALM program in Dramatic Arts at Harvard Extension School. He serves as lecturer on psychology at the Department of Psychology where he teaches The Science and Psychology of Music and Broken Brains: Markers and Mechanisms of Mental Illness. His research explores the impact of rewards on enhancing the lives of historically marginalized groups, such as individuals with psychiatric disorders, immigrants, and refugees. His current work focuses on communal music as a potential social reward, aiming to improve mental health, well-being, and development among young children in these communities.
