Incoming Students

When you begin at Harvard College, you are supported by an advising network that includes a First-Year Academic Adviser, a Proctor, a Peer Advising Fellow, and a Resident Dean of First-Year Students. Your first-year advising network will help you transition to college academics, assist you in navigating Harvard's resources and in exploring curricular and co-curricular opportunities, and help you plan for your choice of concentration. You will be able to view your advising network in August, and it will show up in my.harvard.Throughout the summer, the APO will be offering a number of key events and small group advising sessions to help you hit the ground running in your first semester.

Small Group Advising Sessions

If you have questions about the Harvard College curriculum, course selection, and academic resources, please consider attending one of the APO's Small Group Advising Sessions.

These academic advising sessions will provide a foundation for how to think about course selection for your first year at Harvard. We will review the College curriculum, ways to think about course selection and intentional exploration, and resources that will help you in making these decisions. We will break out into smaller discussion groups, so be sure to bring whatever questions you might have. The sessions will be facilitated by experienced advisers from the Advising Programs Office (APO) and Peer Advising Fellows (PAFs). Please note that each session will cover the same material.
