Students can graduate with Latin honors (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude) and English (departmental) honors (Honors, High Honors, Highest Honors). Latin honors are awarded on the basis of a student’s overall academic record; English honors, solely on the basis of work done in the concentration. Students who do not complete the honors requirements for their concentration, but whose overall record qualifies them, are eligible to graduate cum laude. Most concentrations require a thesis for students seeking to achieve Honors. See the Handbook for Students for more information about Honors.  See Fields of Concentration in the Handbook for Students for information on the Honors requirements for specific concentrations.
